Trahson Burrell inks with Maccabi Haifa

The Maccabi Hunter Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Super League today announced that they have signed swingman Trahson Burrell through the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burrell, 25, spent the past two seasons playing in the NBA G-League. During the 2017-18 season, he appeared in 32 games (22 starts) for the Memphis Hustle while posting averages of 13.3 points on 39.5 percent shooting from three-point range, along with 8.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 33.1 minutes per game. Prior to the Memphis Hustle, Burrell appeared in 49 games (36 starts) during his first professional season with the Long Island Nets and averaged 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Additionally, Burrell participated in the 2017 NBA G League Slam Dunk Contest.

“Trahson is a highly skilled player who can play multiple positions and shoots the three ball well,” said Jeff Rosen, Owner, Maccabi Hunter Haifa. “With the addition of Trahson, our chances of making a playoff run have greatly improved.”

A native of Albany, NY, Burrell spent two seasons (2014-16) at the University of Memphis, where he appeared in 63 games and averaged 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 23.9 minutes per game.
