Maccabi Haifa signs Guni Israeli

Maccabi Hunter Haifa, the 2016-17 Israeli Super League runner-up, announced today that they have signed point guard Guni Israeli for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“GunI brings experience, passion and commitment to Maccabi Hunter Haifa,” Head Coach, Offer Rahimi said.
Israeli, 32, appeared in five games for Maccabi Ashdod this season and averaged 2.4 points, 3.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 15.2 minutes per game. Last season, he played in 28 regular season contests (3 starts) for Hapoel Holon while posting averages of 3.4 points while shooting 37.8 percent (14-for-37) from three-point range, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game.
The 6-foot point guard is a 13-year veteran who won two Israeli League championships with Hapoel Holon (2007-08) and Gilboa Galil (2009-10). He is a native of Kibbutz Gvat.
