Brandon Bowman signs with Maccabi Haifa

Maccabi Hunter Haifa, the 2016-17 Israeli Basketball Super League runner-up, announced today that they have signed power forward/center Brandon Bowman through the 2018-19 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bowman, 32, started in 17 contests last season for Maccabi Kiryat Gat and averaged 16.1 points (seventh in the league), 6.4 rebound and 1.6 assists in 32.1 minutes per game. Prior to Kiryat Gat, Bowman began the 2016-17 season with Proximus Spirou Charleroi in Belgium’s top division, playing in 12 games while posting averages of 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26.6 minutes. He competed in 12 games in the FIBA Basketball Champions League as a member of Spirou, registering 12.9 points (45.7 percent from three-point range), 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 28.5 minutes per game.

“We felt that Brandon was a good fit for our team as he’s someone who brings veteran leadership and will get the job done on both ends of the floor,” said Maccabi Hunter Haifa team owner Jeff Rosen.

“Brandon is an experienced player who knows the league very well,” said Maccabi Hunter Haifa head coach Offer Rahimi. “He can play at multiple positions and he makes us a stronger team.”

The 6-foot-9-inch power forward/center first played in Israel during the 2011-12 season for Maccabi Rishon Lezion, recording averages of 15.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 35.6 minutes in 23 regular season games. He helped guide Rishon to the Israel Cup Final as well as a semifinal appearance. In 2012-13, Bowman had a brief stint with Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, appearing in four contests.

A 12-year veteran, Bowman brings with him championship experience having won titles in Cyprus during the 2015-16 season as well as in New Zealand in 2014. played professionally in leagues all over the world including in Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Korea, Qatar, and Puerto Rico.

A native of Los Angeles, California, Bowman played collegiately at Georgetown University from 2002-06.
