Alessandro Gentile: Hapoel is the ideal situation for me. I am happy to join the team

Alessandro Gentile spoke with Israelhayom  (credit to Roi Cohen of Israel Today Newspaper) about his signing with Hapoel Jerusalem for the remainder of the season.
Hapoel will be the third team this season for Gentile after Milano and Panathinaikos.

“I just want to prove myself again. Hapoel is the ideal situation for me” Gentile said. “I know coach Pianigiani very well and he knows me. I am very happy to join the team” the former captain of EA7 added. “I know a lot of players from Hapoel. I played with Curtis Jerrells in Milan and we have a great relationship. I am very happy to play along with him again. I have played ahainst Jerome Dyson and Tarence Kinsey in Serie A and of course everyone knows Amar’e Stoudemire. I am looking forward to meet him. The connections with Hapoel started when I left Panathinaikos. I followed their EuroCup campaign till the loss against Valencia in the semifinals” Gentile continued. “Eurobasket? I am not thinking about it now after what I went through this season. I just want to prove myself again and Jerusalem is a good opportunity to do that. It is a little bit early to think if I’ll be at Eurobasket. It’s a decision that will make coach Ettore Messina. Now I want to play again, because that’s what I like to do and I know how to do” Gentile ended.
