Maccabi Tel Aviv keeps Itay Segev for two more seasons
The young player remains with MTA
Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv made a move on Thursday morning by retaining Itay Segev for the next two seasons, after exercising the option in his contract. Segev (2.04 meters, 21 years old) is a player that grew up in the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth teams and made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut in 2012-13. After that, he moved to Hapoel Holon and after one season there, he then switched to Galil Gilboa, only to return to Maccabi in 2015. Last season, Segev played three Euroleague games averaging less than one point. In the Eurocup, he also played three games, improving his numbers to 5.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
"This is a happy day for me because Maccabi is much more than a club to me, it's home." Segev said after signing the extension. "I want to thank the club owners for their trust in me and I promise I will give it all to return that trust on the court."
