Veteran point guard Stanley Burrell is terminating his agreement in Belarus to sign a three-month deal with Israeli side Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, according to sources.
Tsmoki-Minsk, I'm hearing, are behind on multiple payments and owe the 6-foot-2 savvy guard a sum total of three checks. Burrell, who has history in Israel when averaging double-figures in scoring for Bnei Herzliya during 2013-2014 season, received a contract sheet to join Gilboa.
Burrell started the 2014-2015 campaign in Japan leading Hitachi Sunrockers Tokyo to the No. 1 seed and an undefeated record before leaving on what sources called, "good terms."
Over eight showings in the VTB league with Minsk, the 30-year-old Xavier alumnus registered 9.9 points and 3.1 assists per contest.
Burrell also played in Bosnia, Belgium, Poland, Germany and Turkey.
