Maccabi Haifa signs Yiftach Ziv
The player moves to Maccabi Haifa
Maccabi Bazan Haifa, the 2013-14 Israeli Basketball Super League runner-up, announced today they have signed guard Yiftach Ziv for the 2014-15 season.
“Yiftach Ziv is a promising talent and we are happy add him to our team as we have a great hopes for him,” said Maccabi Bazan Haifa’s vice chairman Arnon Shiran. “Yiftach is another example of our mission to integrate young, talented and local players, who grew up in our youth department. In addition to his professional skills, Yiftach has a great character, determination, seriousness and strong sports discipline, which allowed him to fight for a spot in a strong team like ours.”
Ziv, 19, grew up in the Maccabi Haifa youth department. The 6-foot-3 guard appeared in 23 games last season in the Israeli second division. He began the season in Ironi Kiryat Ata, appearing in 9 games and moved Tivon/Megido, in which he averaged 5.6 points, 2.7 rebounds’ 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 19.3 minutes in 14 games played.
