Maccabi Tel Aviv signs Brian Randle for two years

The forward moves to Maccabi Tel Aviv

Israel
Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv added another piece to its frontline with the signing of power forward Brian Randle, who has played nearly his entire professional career in Israel. The sides agreed to a two-year deal. Randle (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Maccabi Haifa Bazan, for whom he averaged 11.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in the Eurocup last season and 12 points, 5.8 boards and 1.5 blocks in the Israeli League. Randle starred against Tel Aviv in the Israeli League finals with 20.5 points on 60.9% shooting plus 5 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. He led the Israeli League in blocks per game and ranked second in the Eurocup last season. Randle has brief experience in the Euroleague; he played two games for Alba Berlin at the start of the 2012-13 campaign before a foot injury sidelines him. Randle finished that season back in Israel with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Randle first made a name for himself playing college basketball at the University of Illinois before starting his professional career in the summer of 2008 in Israel with Gilboa Galil. He was voted the Israeli League Defensive Player of the Year after his first season in which he helped Galil reach the league semifinals. In 2010 Randle and Galil captured the Israeli League championship. Randle played the next two seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem, which he helped win the Israeli Cup in 2011.
