Maccabi Tel Aviv C Sofoklis Schortsanitis out two weeks
The big man will miss two weeks of action
Maccabi Tel Aviv's 6-foot-9 muscle Sofoklis Schortsanitis is out for the next two weeks with a sprained left ankle, the team announced via press release.
Schortsanitis, 28, will miss tomorrow's Euroleague Top 16 game versus Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban, and is doubtful for next week's encounter in Lithuania against Zalgiris Kaunas.
Maccabi played Kuban twice earlier this season in the early stages of the Euroleague and won both games with Schortsanitis averaging 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per.
Despite Schortsanitis' absence, Maccabi say American center Shawn James will suit up for the first time since early December following repeated back problems.
Minus Schortsanitis, Tel Aviv's frontline of James, Alex Tyus and Jake Cohen will hope to contain Kuban's inside presence of Richard Hendrix, Aleks Maric and Derrick Brown.
