Maccabi Haifa signs Brian Randle
The player moves to Israel
Maccabi Bazan Haifa signed forward Brian Randle for the coming season. Haifa will be his fourth club in Israel. Randle (2.03 meters, 28 years old) split time last season between Alba Berlin of Germany, with whom he made his Euroleague debut, and Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. He only played two Euroleague games before a foot injury sidelined him. He later joined Tel Aviv and averaged 9.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in nine Israel League regular season games and bumped those numbers to 11.7 points, 8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game in the playoffs.
Randle first made a name for himself playing college basketball at the University of Illinois before starting his professional career in the summer of 2008 in Israel with Gilboa Galil. He was voted the Israeli League Defensive Player of the Year after his first season in which he helped Galil reach the league semifinals. In 2010 both Randle and Galil did even better as he earned a spot on the all-league team and helped Galil to its second league championship. Randle played the next two seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem, with whom he averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds in 12 Eurocup games over both seasons. Randle helped Jerusalem win the Israeli Cup in 2011.
