Segev and Cohen leave the team

Israel

The Maccabi Bazan Haifa professional basketball team, the 2013 Israeli Super League Champions, announced today the team has exercised its option on center Alex Chubrevich as well as power forward Anton Shoutvin for the 2013-14 season.

Chubrevich, 26, appeared in 19 regular season games last year, posting a career-high 8 points in 7 minutes off the bench in the Greens' first quarterfinals game against Gilboa Galil on May 9. The 7-foot center was invited to play on the Israeli national team this summer.
Shoutvin, 24, tallied 3.1 points in 6.5 minutes per game in 20 games played last season. He notched 10 points in two games off the bench this past season (at Hapoel Tel Aviv in game 5 on November 12, 2012, at Ashkelon in game 21 on March 17, 2013).

“We are excited to return Alex Chubrevich and Anton Shoutvin for next season,” said Maccabi Bazan Haifa owner Jeffrey Rosen. “Both Alex and Anton are core Israeli players, whom have gained valuable experience and made important contributions over the course last year’s championship season.

Maccabi Haifa also announced the team will not renew the contracts of Lior Segev and Bryan Cohen.
