Szolnoki Olaj lands Marko Brkic

Brkic moves to Hungary

Hungary
Hungarian powerhouse Szolnoki Olaj kept getting ready for its Eurocup debut next season by inking big man Marko Brkic to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Brkic (2.06 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Radnicki Kragujevac, where he averaged 5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 6 Eurocup games last season. It marked his second stint with the club after representing the “Workers” in the 2009-10 campaign. A native of Belgrade, Brkic is a well-traveled big man with a soft-shooting touch all the way out to the three-point line. After beginning his career with Hemofarm Vrsac, he has also played for Sloga Kraljevo and OKK Belgrade in Serbia, Igokea in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for Polpak Swiecie, Anwil Wloclawek and Turow Zgorzelec in Poland. He helped Igokea win the Bosnian double (league and cup titles) and reach the Adriatic League final four in 2013.
