AEK Larnaca are the Division 1 champions, Apoel loses the finals
Another victory for AEK that can celebrates the third Cypriot title
AEK Larnaca is for the third time in last four seasons the Division 1 champion in Cyprus, winning 3-0 the final series against Apoel Nicosia.
Larnaca won the decisive game-3 for 81-74, conquering again the trophy after the season 2013 and 2015.
The champions, after the victory of the regular season, played a perfect post-season, closed without defeats and the victory in semifinals on Apollon Limassol. Across the board Apoel won 3-1 the semifinal series against Keravnos, not enough the addition during the season of Callistus Eziukwu and Brandon Heath to reach the final victory.
For Larnaca really great season (reaching also the FIBA Europe Cup Eightfinals), thanks to the experience of Brandon Bowman, Thaddus McFadden (top scorer of the team), Parrish Brown and Primoz Brezec, with an important contribution of the last arrival Tyreek Duren.
