Stefan Georgiev retires from playing basketball
The captain of BC Levski retired from playing professionall after 15 seasons
The longtime captain of BC Levski - Stefan Georgiev, retired from playing professionally. He decided to stop after more than 15 years in Bulgarian championship and international tournaments.
Georgiev is twice a champion of EUROHOLD Balkan League - the last time was this year, and he finished his career by lifting three trophies - the one of EUROHOLD BIBL, Bulgarian Cup and Title. So far he has played in all six editions of the competition.
The Sports Director of EUROHOLD Balkan League - Mr. Shay Shtriks, also recognized Georgiev′s career and had to say this about him:
"Toro is one of the best Bulgarian players I have ever officiated in my carrier as a referee. After, when I was the General Manager of the Bulgarian National team and now as a Sports Director of BIBL, it was always pleasure to cooperate with him. His heart is bigger then his ego and he always gave 1000% from himself to the team and to the game. I am not sure how many players like Toro we can find now in Bulgaria and I do hope that he will stay in the basketball world because he can give a lot to the young players and to the basketball in general. Thank you Toro and good luck!"
