Scooore League: Oostende celebrates the fifth consecutive title
3-1 the final series against Aalstar
Telenet Oostende completed a perfect season, and after the victories in SuperCup and National Cup the team of coach Gjergja closed the 2016 with championship title number 17 of own history, five in the last five years, thanks to the 3-1 series victory against Okapi Aalstar.
During the post-season Oostende won against Liege and Limburg, Aalstar eliminated Mons-Hainaut and Brussels. Both semifinals end 3-2, really surprising elimination of Charleroi in the playoffs quarterfinals.
The champions close the final series with the away victory 74-69 in the decisive game-4.
Gibson and Katic were decisive in the finals, for the American player 25 points in game-1, the Serbian big man played 3 really great matches with 17, 19 and 25 points. Important also the help from Serron, Gillet and Djordjevic. Aalstar was dragged to the last act of the year by the MVP John Tofi (16+7 average during the season), playing a good series also thanks to the effort of Kyan and Jerime Anderson.
