New attendance record set in Belgium: 15.000 spectators
The record was set in the game between Antwerp Giants and Okapi Aalstar
A new attendance record has been broken for a basketball game in Belgium with 15,500 spectators turning out on Saturday night for a domestic league game between EuroChallenge clubs Antwerp Giants and Okapi Aalstar.
Antwerp achieved their goal of breaking the previous attendance record of 14,000, which they set last season.
The game was worthy of the attendance, with Antwerp clinging on to win by three points in overtime, 88-85, as Bryan Hopkins showed the good form seen earlier this season in the EuroChallenge, top-scoring with 34 points.
