Alexey Shved turned down offers from Pelicans, Timberwolves, Grizzlies and Suns, agent says
Shved decided to remain with Khimki turning down also a $4 million offer from an NBA Team
Obrad Fimic, agent for Alexey Shved, had an interview with Izvestia in which he said that the Russian combo guard turned down four offers from the NBA to remain with Khimki Moscow.
“Every summer, NBA teams are interested in Shved” Obrad Fimic said. “This summer Pelicans, Timberwolves, Grizzlies and Suns tried to sign the player. The best offer was in the $4 million ange for next season. We were also offered two minimum contracts. We told the NBA teams that we were looking for a single season contract but the offer did not satisfy us” Fimic added. “NBA GMs have to understand that Shved doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. He has already shown all of his skills having played three seasons in the NBA. He got an invitation to play during the All-Star Weekend (in the rookie game), in New York he averaged 15 points per game. The price of Shved’s contract should be two times higher that it was offered” Fimic continued. “In 2019-2020 Shved will have a contract with Khimki but we will consider NBA offers even more carefully. It is said that next summer NBA teams will have more money to offer” Fimic said. “Shved is playing in his country, almost in his hometown, has a contract with a good team. Khimki has ambitious goals: to win the VTB League and reach the EuroLeague Final Four. Alexey is ready to re-write the history of Khimki Moscow but not everything depends on him. Last season Khimki did not have shooters. This season the club acquired a new point guard and some “snipers”.
