CSKA Moscow signs Othello Hunter to a two-year deal
The big man inks in Moscow
CSKA Moscow bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Othello Hunter to a two-year deal. Hunter (2.03 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Real Madrid, where he averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 35 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games off the bench last season, while ranking sixth overall in two-point shooting percentage (65.5%). He helped Madrid win the Spanish Copa del Rey title and reach the EuroLeague Final Four. Hunter had joined Madrid from Olympiacos Piraeus, with which he reached the EuroLeague championship game in 2015 and won Greek League titles in 2015 and 2016. He started his career with Atlanta of the NBA and also played for Anaheim of the D-League, Ilysiakos Athens of Greece, Dinamo Sassari and Montepaschi Siena of Italy, Shandong Flaming Bulls and Jiangsu Tongxi of China, Azovmash Mariupol of Ukraine and Baloncesto Valladolid of Spain before joining Olympiacos. Hunter was a college basketball standout with the Ohio State University, which he helped reach the NCAA Tournament final in 2007. He has averaged 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 96 EuroLeague career games with Siena, Olympiacos and Madrid.
