He lead CSKA to a 22-2 record during the regular season

Dimitris Itoudis, head coach of CKSA Moscow, has been named Coach of The Year in VTB League for the 2016-2017 season. CSKA Moscow finished the regular season with 22 wins and 2 losses, the team was the best offense in the league with almost 94 points per game and the second best defense in the league with 74.3 points allowed per game.

Last season the award went to Vasily Karasev of Zenit St.Petersburg.
