Mareks Mejeris remains with VEF Riga
The player remains with the Latvian champions
VEF Riga has extended agreement with Latvian National Team forward Mareks Mejeris (2.07 meters, 23 years old) who will play for the team next season as well.

Last season Mareks returned to Latvia after three seasons in Spain, joining VEF Riga where he won his first career Latvian Basketball League (LBL) championship and was named playoffs MVP.
Mareks was the only player from VEF Riga last season that played in all 61 games. He played his best basketball in LBL, where he averaged 10ppg, 6rpg and +13,3eff. He took his game to the next level in the second part of the season and it translated into his performance during LBL playoffs when he averaged 13.2ppg, 7.5 rpg and +18.1eff.
In VTB United League Mareks' averaged were 7.7ppg, 5.5rpg and +12.2eff. Meanwhile in Eurocup he averaged 5.8ppg, 4.7rpg and +7.6eff.
After his first season with VEF Riga Mareks Mejeris has been included in Latvian National Team core candidate list that consists of ten players in preparation for EuroBasket 2015.
