2014/15 VTB season without Lithuanian teams?
The Lithuanian league will increase the number of rounds, impossible to play also the VTB games
Everything seemed ready for the new season of VTB, the groups were practically done and lacked only a wild card to complete the list of 22 participants... but something has changed few minutes ago, VTB announced that the 5 Lithuanian teams (Lietuvos Rytas, Neptunas, Dzukija, Nevezis e Lietkabelis) most probably will not take more part in the league due to the possible extension of the LKL regular season which should have 4 and not more 2 regular season tournament rounds.
It would be really hard to find space for a tight schedule as that of VTB, with trips not just around the corner, with a national regular season of almost 40 games without considering that it's still on standby the definition of the calendar, with the participating teams, of the next edition of the Baltic League.
The new format with 16 teams left (at this point should skip the additional WC) should be defined within the next week.
