Nanterre beats Trabzonspor on the buzzer
JSF Nanterre were proclaimed EuroChallenge 2015 champions after a lay-up in traffic by Terrance Campbell at the buzzer lifted them to a 64-63 triumph over hosts Trabzonspor Medical Park in a dramatic final.
TURNING POINT: Nanterre were trailing 63-62 and had the last possession with 11 seconds on the clock. Campbell missed on a three from the wing, the French side kept the ball alive and kicked out to Joseph Gomis who missed from the top of the key, but somehow Johan Passave-Ducteil came up with the ball, kept his composure among a sea of hands and passed to Campbell, who had cut underneath the basket and finished with a reverse lay-up.
GAME HERO: Campbell, a point guard of diminutive stature, rose as a titan in the clutch by hitting key shots when Trabzonspor began their surge. He topped it off in the final play with his inspired cut to the basket and the composed off-the-glass winner.
