Eurochallenge new Logo Unveiled
The EuroChallenge tips off on 24 October 2013 and the postseason will be completed by the end of March 2014
The draw for the new season of EuroChallenge in Munich, Germany, was headlined by the presentation of the competition's new logo.
FIBA Europe Secretary General Kamil Novak presented the new motif before the draw at Kempinski Hotel.
The ambigram-styled logo (note: ambigram is a word or art form that can be viewed or read the same from a different direction) uses the shapes of the competition's two initials „EC" as key-elements
Although FIBA Europe is mainly identified with the colour blue, the EuroChallenge logo will be of green colour.
Speaking about the logo Novak emphasized that it was high time that the competition gained its own identity.
"In terms of design we wanted to illustrate a connection with the other existing club competitions [Euroleague and Eurocup] while keeping the same shape, but at the same time creating a distinct identity for EuroChallenge," said Novak.
"With the new logo we are showing that we mean business in club basketball. That's a first step towards greater things to come."
