Regular Season Week 8 bwin MVP: Milos Teodosic, CSKA Moscow

Former Euroleague MVP Milos Teodosic added another title to his impressive resume as the bwin MVP for Game 8. The CSKA Moscow maestro led the way as the Russian champs outraced Brose Baskets Bamberg 89-97 in the Game of the Week. Teodosic was the catalyst with 19 points and 9 assists – and no turnovers – as CSKA improved to 7-1. His performance index rating of 25 was the highest of any player on a winning team in Game 8. Teodosic was perfect on 4 two-point baskets, made 2 of 7 from downtown and 5 of 6 free throws for his 19 points. He also collected 1 rebounds and drew 6 fouls in compiling his 25 index. Teodosic, who already has a pair of All-Euroleague selections to his name, now has two weekly MVP honors too. Luks Zoric recorded the best index of any player in Game 8 with 33, but his team, Unicaja Malaga, fell on the road at Montepaschi Siena. Zoric totaled 29 points on 11-of-13 shooting and 4 rebounds in the loss. Cedevita guard Bracey Wright matched Teodosic with a 25 index, but his team also lost, 73-81, to Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Rounding out the rest of the Game 8 best are Gasper Vidmar of Besiktas JK Istanbul and Marcus Slaughter of Real Madrid. Vidmar had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks for a performance index rating of 24 in a loss to FC Barcelona Regal. Slaughter tallied 12 points, 10 boards, 5 steals and a 23 index in a big win over Fenerbahce Ulker. MVP Video Individual highs: Luka Zoric, 29 points Zoric was the week’s best scorer with his season-high 29 points, which raised his average to 10.5 points per game. Bobby Brown remains the league’s top scorer with 18.3 per game. Caja Laboral big man and Elan Chalon counterpart Shelden Williams were Game 8’s top rebounders with 12 apiece. Williams, with 8.1 rebounds per game, is ranked third in the league. Union Olimpija center Aron Baynes remains the leading rebounder with 10 per game. Teodosic’s 9 assists ranked him ahead of anyone else for Game 8. His former teammate Vassilis Spanoulis of Olympiacos tops the charts for the season with 6.3 assists per game. Marcus Slaughter is tied for fifth in the league with 1.5 steals per game after racking up 5 to lead all Game 8 players. Ricky Hickman of Maccabi Electra leads the league with 2.5 per game. Three players – Stephane Lasme of Panathinaikos, Sergey Monya of BC Khimki Moscow and Alex Tyus of Mapooro Cantu – each blocked 4 shots to lead all Game 8 players. Lasme is the full season leader with 2.4 rejections per game. Game 8 saw six players compile double-doubles: Lampe (14 points, 12 rebounds), Rasid Mahalbasic (12 points, 10 rebounds) of Asseco Prokom Gdynia, Slaughter, Ioannis Bourousis (11 points, 10 rebounds) of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Semih Erden (10 points, 10 rebounds)of Anadolu Efes and Shelden Williams (10 points, 12 rebounds).
