NBPA and ELPA's representatives meet in Milan
ELPA's Managing Director, Bostjan Nachbar and Secretary General Anze Blazic met with NBPA Executive Director Michelle Roberts and Head of International Relations and Marketing Matteo Zuretti in Milan
The representatives of the National Basketball Players Association are pleased that the first union of basketball players competing in EuroLeague was indeed officially founded at Tuesday's General Assembly in Barcelona, where Luigi Datome was named its first president. The newly constituted Players' Board also confirmed the first goals for the upcoming season and discussed many ideas for the association's work in the near future.
The NBPA, the union for professional basketball players in the NBA, was established in 1954 and since then has been ensuring that every conceivable measure is taken to assist players in maximizing their opportunities and achieving their goals. With all their experience, they are well aware of the importance of such associations for sportsmen.
The meeting was very productive since the representatives of the associations discussed cooperation options based on agreement that both ELPA and NBPA are striving towards similar goals – to aim to assist, represent, and unite the players in achieving their goals, on and off the court.
The NBPA representatives shared some invaluable experience and words of advice and wished ELPA the best of luck with ensuring a good future for all the players in EuroLeague.
