Zalgiris Kaunas eyeing Thomas Walkup for the next season

Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas, fresh off their qualification to Euroleague Final Four, has shown strong interest in signing American guard Thomas Walkup for the next season, a source told Sportando. Walkup is living a strong year in Ludwigsburg and is considered by many as a potential rising star in Europe. 

In this season, Walkup, a former Stephen F.Austin alum, averaged 12.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in Basketball Champions League, shooting almost 40% from the three-point line. Walkup is also shooting an impressive 41% from deep in BBL. 

Zalgiris has shown pretty solid scouting skills in recent years and Walkup could become another really useful addition for Sarunas Jasikevicius' side. The two sides may already finalize an agreement for the next season after the Euroleague Final Four, per source.
