Top 3 Teams to Dominate 2017 EuroLeague
Despite it still being in the early stages of the season, analysts and pundits alike have come up with best teams who are likely to dominate this year’s EuroLeague
The 2017-18 EuroLeague has just kicked off last Oct. 12. Despite it still being in the early stages of the season, analysts and pundits alike have come up with best teams who are likely to dominate this year’s EuroLeague. Here they are:
#1 CSKA Moscow
The CSKA Moscow gains the top spot in our list of five best teams in the EuroLeague. Why? The answer to that is simple — it's all about their adaptability in the court. CSKA is known to be able to adapt to different lineups and situations.
They’ve always got a backup plan if their gameplay fails to bear fruit. Take for example how Sergio Rodriguez and Leo Westermann manage to make highlight plays even if the odds were against them last season. And with a number of new additions to the team like Nando de Colo, it’s safe to say that they can win the trophy. Also take note that they were the third-place runner up last year, so they surely have learned a lot from the Final Four round.
#2 Real Madrid
Madrid is not just know for its prowess in football, but in basketball as well. With a lot of talent and skill on Real Madrid's roster, the chances of them making their way in the Final Four are high. They’ve also got a lot of experience tucked under their sleeves, which is why they’ll do pretty well throughout the season.
However, it’s unfortunate that reigning MVP Sergio Llull sustained a right knee injury which will keep him from playing on the court for most of the season. But as bad as it sounds, it might be a blessing in disguise as the team would be less dependent on star players.
This will give Rudy Fernandez and Luka Doncic a chance to step up when it comes to leading their team in the league. New arrivals Ognjen Kuzmic, Fabien Causeur, and Chasson Randle are enough to patch up the vacant positions that Andres Nocioni and Augusto Lima left. But as good as it sounds, this will surely be a puzzle piece for Pablo Laso.
#3 Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens
Last year was a terrible season for Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens. Not only did they fail to make use of their home court advantage, but they disappointed their fans into believing that they can make it to the Final Four. What made it even worse is that their supposed home court advantage to qualify for the playoffs was rendered meaningless. But now that the new season has started, it’s safe to say that they have learned their weaknesses.
Now, they’re fired up more than ever to make it to the Final Four. To ensure they won’t fall short this time, the team signed new talents into their roster. Nick Calathes, K.C. Rivers, and James Gist are some of the new top guns of the Greek team.
NBA rising star Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Zach Auguste will take care of the team’s defense. While Matt Lojeski will lead the team in shooting and offense, together with Marcus Denmon and Lukas Lekavicius.
What Does this Tell Us?
CSKA Moscow is currently on top of the betting odds ranking with 27/10 odds. With this, it’s likely that they’ll reign supreme and become the EuroLeague 2017-18 Champion. However, Fenerbahce and Real Madrid are closing in on the Russian team with both having 7/2 odds.
But between the two, Los Blancos is more likely to overtake CSKA in odds in the next few weeks due to its many higher-caliber players. Unfortunately, Panathinaikos is still suffering from the terrible experience they had last season, which is why they have an underdog 15/1 odds.
They’re currently on the 6th spot in the betting ranking. Barcelona even comes first before the Greek team with a single figure differential of 14/1 odds. If you are to bet on a team for the Euro League, http://www.freebets.co.uk/ recommends any of those teams mentioned above. Just don’t settle for the #7 and below teams like Tel Aviv, Baskonia, and Valencia, who all have 40/1 odds.
