American forward Pete Mickeal has retired from basketball at the age of 39. According to Spanish media, Mickeal will become a scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Selected by the New York Knicks with the 58th pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, Mickeal never played an NBA regular season game but he became a well-respected forward in Europe as he won the Euroleague title in 2010 with Barcelona.
He last played for Atenas de Cordoba in Argentina.
