Top100 Euroleague Players: 70-61
The regular season will begin on October 12, it's time to find out the top100!
Introduction
These rankings are both a subjective list (that will create disagreements and differing opinions) and a sort of 'Euroleague guide'.
N.B. Sergio Llull was not included in the list because he's probably out for the season; Tyrese Rice was not included in the list because he's still on the market and he is not in the plans of the team for the upcoming season.
Criteria
Player's value;
Team's value;
Player's role and impact in the team;
Player's potential;
Last year numbers and injuries.
#70 AUGUSTINE RUBIT (PF, BAMBERG)
After two strong seasons with Ratiopharm Ulm, he'll have a pivotal role in Bamberg's frontline.
Prolific scorer and rebounder; Bamberg cannot have any ambitious to go very far in the tournament and this is why Rubit is not higher in our evaluation.
#69 JAMES ANDERSON (SG/SF, KHIMKI)
The former NBAer has a respectable shot from the perimeter and his 1vs1 game is good.
Coach Bartzokas hopes to have the player that we saw at Zalgiris and not the Darrusafaka's version.
#68 NORRIS COLE (PG, MACCABI TEL AVIV)
Two time NBA champion with the Miami Heat: he had an important role in the 2013 title.
He has the physical attributes and the speed needed to be consistent and effective in D.
#67 RAKIM SANDERS (SF, BARCELONA)
The man behind the successes of Milan and Sassari in Lega Basket Serie A (two time finals MVP).
Strong frame, very athletic player who can perform equally well in the '3' as he can in the '4' (at the PF position it's even easier for him to open the court).
#66 FABIEN CAUSEUR (SG, REAL MADRID)
In Real he'll surely have a complementary role, but he remains a complete guard: very dangerous in drives, he can pass well and he's an above average defender.
#65 PIERRE JACKSON (PG/SG, MACCABI TEL AVIV)
A very good scorer from any range despite his size; his strenghts are speed and explosiveness.
He's not higher on our list because we haven't seen him in any big tournament before (50 minutes in six games with Fenerbache in 2014).
#64 NIKITA KURBANOV (SF, CSKA MOSCOW)
Physical defender, able to finish in the low post with his back to the basket when there are mismatches in his favor.
A team player who works hard on the court and sacrifices for the group.
#63 MATT LOJESKI (SF, PANATHINAIKOS)
An elite 3&D wing, we wish he will be healthy.
Great steal from the rivals.
#62 GIORGI SHERMADINI (C, UNICAJA MALAGA)
7-footer with solid low post moves who's coming off the best season of his career.
Member of the All Liga ACB Team (alongside Llull, Jackson, Hanga and Dubljevic), he will likely be the new starting center for Malaga.
#61 TIBOR PLEISS (C, VALENCIA)
Former Jazz player returns to a Spanish team: a very skilled player and a good shooter for his size.
His weakness is defending the pick and roll, especially after switches in screens.
