Olimpia Milano officially signs Patric Young

The big man inks a two-year deal

Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano agreed on terms with Patric Young, lately with Olympiacos Piraeus. Young is a 2.09 center, 100 kg of weight.

WHO’S YOUNG – Born on February 1, 1992, in Jacksonville, Florida, Patric Young attended Providence High School in Jacksonville. In 2010 he led Providence to the state championship with a 31-1 record and was Florida’s Player of the Year. Ha went on to play for Coach Billy Donovan (now the Oklahoma City Thunder’s head coach) at Florida. Young played four seasons for the Gators, the last three as the starting center. During his first season he was included in the SEC All-freshman rem and competed in the NCAA Final Four (Florida lost to Butler in the semifinal game). In his second season he converted 61.8% of his shots and grabbed 6.4 rebounds for a quarterfinal-team. In 2012/13 he averaged 10.1 points per game with 58 shots blocked over 37 games and 36 starts, while averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. In 2013/14 he averaged 11.0 points per game with 6.2 rebounds leading his team to one more Final Four. He scored 19 points in a semifinal loss to Connecticut. He was named SEC’s defensive player of the year after being included twice in the All-SEC’s second team. He was undrafted in 2014 but New Orleans invited him to the Veteran Camp after competing in the summer league. The he moved to Turkey, playing for Galatasaray where he averaged 13.2 points and 6.4 rebounds during the EuroLeague. In 2015 he was signed by Olympiacos, averaging 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while making 71.4% of his shots. He had to finish his season early because of a knee injury. During the last season he helped Olympiacos making the EuroLeague and the Greek league finals.

NOTES – He was the first Florida player to appear in 150 games… He won a school-record 120 games during his stay… He won the Tournament of the Americas in 2010 with the Under 18 National Team… Among his college teammates: Alex Tyus (Cantù, Maccabi, Galatasaray), Chandler Parsons (Houston, Dallas e Memphis), Scottie Wilbekin (Darussafaka), Bradley Beal (Washington)… During the 2015/16 he scored 18 points in 23 minutes of action against Olimpia in Milano.
