Tony Parker made it clear: ASVEL will play in EuroCup next season
The goal of ASVEL is to play in EuroLeague
Tony Parker, president of ASVEL, made it clear: the French team will play in EuroCup next season with the goal to be in EuroLeague in the next two years.
Parker spoke with RMC Sport.
“We have very good relations with EuroLeague. And I have already warned the French Federation and LNB that ASVEL will play in EuroCup next season. We want to play in EuroLeague in the future. France must be represented in the two best European Cups” Parker said. “I trust Jean-Pierre Siutat (French Basketball Federation president), I know how much he does for basketball. But if there is no agreement between FIBA and EuroLeague, Jean-Pierre knows that my goal is to play in EuroLeague. So, I have already told him that we’ll play in EuroCup next season. I hope there will be an agreement between FIBA and EuroLeague for the good of European basketball. We want to play in EuroCup and I hope that we’ll be chosen to play in EuroLeague in two years” Parker added.
