Euroleague Basketball partners with Germany's Tempobet

Regional agreement boosts Germany's four Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup teams

EuroLeague
Euroleague Basketball has announced that online sportsbook Tempobet has become its new, official national betting partner in Germany for the upcoming season in both the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup.

The agreement marks another step in Euroleague Basketball's strategy of maximizing revenues through regional partnerships while anchoring both of its competition brands in a key country like Germany, whose importance in the basketball marketplace grows bigger year by year.

This season, German League champion Brose Bamberg returns to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, where it won more games than any German club ever last season. Germany also will have three recent national champions or finalists – ALBA Berlin, FC Bayern Munich and ratiopharm Ulm – battling for supremacy in the 7DAYS EuroCup.

Tempobet will be with all four clubs every step of the way in a partnership that features LED advertising, hospitality and other sponsorship rights to be activated throughout the course of the season.

Tempobet managing director Mark Clayton said the deal gave the brand significant exposure in a number of different countries.

"I'm delighted to have secured this exclusive partnership," Mr. Clayton said. "Basketball is a hugely popular sport with both our existing customers and among potential ones, and the opportunity to be the only sportsbook on the LED billboards in Germany was too good to miss. Having one deal that gives us simultaneous coverage in multiple European territories with audiences of many millions at the same time will help take us to the next level."

The new competition systems in both the EuroLeague and the EuroCup guarantee Tempobet a minimum of 30 home games – 15 in each competition – with which to highlight its brand to television viewers across the continent and beyond.

Roser Queralto, Euroleague Basketball's Chief Business Development Officer, said: "We are very glad to welcome Tempobet to our family of partners. The new era that EuroLeague and EuroCup are about to start, together with the great quality of the German teams in both competitions, create a perfect mix for Tempobet to activate at the highest level."
