Maccabi Tel Aviv adds third year deal to Quincy Miller's contract, sidelined 6-9 months

Miller's new contract will expire in June 2019

EuroLeague
Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv announced Wednesday that recent signing Quincy Miller will be sidelined six to nine months with a knee injury and that his contract with the club has been extended by one additional year.

Miller was signed earlier this summer alongside Maik Zirbes, his frontcourt mate from their former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague team, Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade. Both received two-year deals. A rookie last season, Miller ranked second in blocks, seventh in scoring and 16th in rebounds among all EuroLeague players and was voted by the fans and media to the All-Euroleague Second Team.

Miller was injured at home in the United States this summer and is expected to be out of action for six to nine months, which means that he is likely to miss most or all of the new 30-game EuroLeague regular season. Maccabi said in a statement that Miller will undertake his long-term rehabilitation process in Tel Aviv.

In light of the injury, Maccabi and Miller have decided to add a third year to his contract, the announcement said.

"We see Quincy as part of us for a long time," team manager Nikola Vujcic said in the statement. "We'll put at his disposal our excellent medical staff and all the resources needed to bring him back to full playing shape."

"I hope that I can come back already this season, but I will not do anything hastily and recklessly," Miller said. "I'm going to work very hard."
