Barcelona signs Justin Doellman to a three-year contract extension

Doellman's new contract will expire in 2019

EuroLeague
FC Barcelona Lassa reached a new agreement with power forward Justin Doellman to keep working together until the end of the 2018-19 season, the club announced Thursday. Doellman (2.06 meters, 31 years old) averaged 9.6 points on 42.9% three-point shooting and 87.8% free throw accuracy, 4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 28 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, winning two of them down the stretch. Doellman hit a buzzer-beating shot to lift Barcelona to an 86-87 road win in Madrid in Top 16 Round 4. He did even better at home against CSKA Moscow - hitting a three-point shot to tie the game, collecting a steal and firing in the game-winning shot, all in less than 5 seconds. Doellman joined Barcelona from Valencia Basket, which he led to its third 7DAYS EuroCup title in the 2013-14 season. Doellman, a two-time All-EuroCup First Team selection, took over in the 2014 EuroCup Finals and earned MVP honors. He led Valencia to a sweep of Unics Kazan by averaging 27 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in the two finals games. For the season, Doellman averaged 15.5 points on 41.2% three-point shooting and 4.8 rebounds in 24 EuroCup games with Valencia. Doellman's only previous EuroLeague experience before joining Barcelona came with Orleans in 2009-10, when he averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 9 games. Doellman has also played for Besancon and Cholet in France, as well as for Alicante and Manresa in Spain. He was chosen as the 2013-14 Spanish League MVP after leading Valencia to a 30-4 regular season record.
