Bayern, Zalgiris and Laboral chosen as Devotion Marketing award winners

Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that FC Bayern Munich, Zalgiris Kaunas and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz are the winners, respectively, of the 2016 Devotion Marketing Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards

Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that FC Bayern Munich, Zalgiris Kaunas and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz are the winners, respectively, of the 2016 Devotion Marketing Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, which recognize excellence on the part of Turkish Airlines Euroleague and Eurocup clubs at achieving visibility and impact within the entertainment market. The Devotion Marketing Awards have been recognizing the best efforts made by Euroleague Basketball clubs in their various marketing efforts and campaigns since 2007.

The three finalists received the most votes from a pool of eight teams that were initially selected by Euroleague Basketball from a long list of clubs that submitted their application for this season's awards. Joining Bayern, Laboral Kutxa and Zalgiris, selected nominees were Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, Panathinaikos Athens and Valencia Basket. All eight clubs presented their best marketing strategy of the season to compete for the gold, silver and bronze Devotion Marketing Awards, and were eligible to vote for any of the other participating Euroleague and Eurocup clubs.

Each of the three finalists made significant efforts either locally or internationally with their commercial projects, media and technological ventures, fan-based activities, ticketing, branding or product experience.

FC Bayern Munich was awarded with the Gold Award for the development of a unique campaign with its main sponsor Baywa, a leading international trading and services group in the segments of agriculture, energy and building materials. Bayern and Baywa created the world's largest basketball court, which measured 36,000 square meters, on a wheat field next to Munich Airport. Team members Bryce Taylor and John Bryant, as well as head coach Svetislav Pesic, visited the court for on-site shooting of various video clips, editorial interviews and announcements that permitted the creation of multiple content pieces that helped the campaign go viral on various communication channels.

Zalgiris Kaunas’s received the Silver Award as a result of its webTV project that allowed it to grow its audience and eventually to turn into an entertainment channel.
