Top 16 Round 7 bwin MVP: Nando De Colo, CSKA Moscow

Nando De Colo is once again the MVP of the Round

Nando De Colo was awarded the bwin MVP for January trophy prior to CSKA Moscow’s 97-75 victory over EA7 Emporio Armani on Friday night. And if anyone was unsure why, he reminded them with another fantastic performance to become the Top 16 Round 7 bwin MVP, too. De Colo tallied 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for a performance index rating of 29, which was the highest among any player on a winning team in this week's eight games. He only committed a single turnover, drew 5 fouls and did not miss in 6 trips to the foul line. The highest index rating of the week came from Art Parakhouski, who was unstoppable inside for Nizhny Novgorod in an 82-91 loss to Olympiacos Piraeus. The center scored 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting in addition to 11 rebounds and 2 blocks for a performance index rating of 30. Next on the list of Top 16 Round 7 stars was Jamel McLean with an index rating of 25. McLean led ALBA Berlin to a 59-66 road win at Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Rounding out the list of Top 16 Round 7's top performers were six players tied with index ratings of 24: Tomas Satoransky of FC Barcelona, Rudy Fernandez of Real Madrid, Fabien Causeur of Laboral Kutxa Vitoria, Boban Marjanovic of Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade, MarShon Brooks of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Taylor Rochestie of Nizhny Novgorod. Fernandez, last week’s bwin MVP, helped his team to a 71-88 win in Kaunas with 17 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Satoransky had his finest Euroleague game to date with 17 points, 4 assists and 3 steals in an 82-70 victory over Galatasaray Liv Hospital. Causeur produced 12 points, 4 assists and 7 fouls drawn in a 79-74 home win over Unicaja. Marjanovic did not miss from the field en route to 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 74-69 loss at Panathinaikos. Brooks scored 24 on 4-of-6 three-point shooting in the loss at CSKA Moscow and Rochestie had 18 points and 5 assists in defeat to Olympiacos.

 



Individual highs: James Gist of Panathinaikos, 6 steals

Parakhouski was Top 16 Round 7’s best scorer with 25 points, which also carried him to fourth in the phase with 17 points per game. His teammate, Rochestie, remains the No. 1 scorer in both the Top 16 (19.4 ppg.) and for the full season (19.7 ppg.). Patric Young of Galatasaray Liv Hospital skied for 14 rebounds to top the weekly charts. Fenerbahce Ulker forward Nemanja Bjelica is first for the Top 16 in rebounds with 10.1 per game. Marjanovic has averaged 9.9 rebounds per game to lead all players for the entire season. Panathinaikos great Dimitris Diamantidis, the competition’s career assists leader, is in a familiar spot as the week’s No. 1 assist man with 10. Rochestie's 7 assists per game are the most in the Top 16. CSKA Moscow maestro Milos Teodosic leads the full-season table with 7.3 on average. Panathinaikos forward James Gist stood out with 6 steals to lead all players this week. De Colo is tied with Rudy Fernandez at 2.29 steals per game for the most in the Top 16. David Logan of Dinamo Sassari had 2.3 steals in the regular season to lead all players, though Fernandez is the full season leader among players active in the Top 16 with 1.92 per game. Marcus Slaughter of Real Madrid blocked 3 shots in Kaunas, more than any other player this week. Parakhouski leads all players with 2.57 blocks per game in the Top 16 and 2.06 for the season. Four players recorded double doubles in Top 16 Round 7: Diamantidis (11 points, 10 assists), Marjanovic (17 points, 10 rebounds), Parakhouski (25 points, 11 rebounds) and Young (14 points, 11 rebounds).
