Bayern Munich beat Zalgiris Kaunas on the road

Bayern Munich's long-range prowess made the difference as the Turkish Airlines Euroleague newcomers marked their Top 16 debut with a 66-84 victory at Zalgiris Kaunas. Malcolm Delaney paced the Munich attack with 14 points and 6 assists, while Heiko Schaffartzik talled 12 points and 5 assists. The visitors went up by 10 after 5 quick Robin Benzing points early in the second quarter. Schaffartzik came alive to reject a Zalgiris run as the visitors took a 36-48 lead at the break. The third quarter is where Munich broke the game open as Bryce Taylor and Lucca Staiger shined in a 0-13 charge and Zalgiris never recovered. Taylor finished with 12 points and Benzing 10 for the visitors, who made 10 of 21 threes (47.6%) compared to just 6-of-33 three-point shooting (18.2%) for the hosts. Justin Dentmon led Zalgiris with 12 points in defeat.
