Euroleague Game 3: Sportando Team of the Week

Darjus Lavrinovic is the MVP of the week

EuroLeague

MVP - Darjus Lavrinovic (Budivelnyk Kyiv)
In Budivelnyk's first Euroleague win against Partizan (74-69), Lavrinovic plays an high-level rebounding and defensive game against one of the best rebounding frontcourt in Euroleague, often denying the entry pass and doing an excellent job both man-to-man and in pick and roll plays. He's also the team's main offensive threat, hitting a couple of big shots in the fourth quarter and finishing the game with 22 PTS on a 69% from the field while adding also 8 RBS, 2 BLK, 7 FD and 31 EV.

Trenton Meacham (JSF Nanterre)
A lot of players deserve to be awarded in Nanterre's historic win in Barcelona (71-67), from Jeremy Nzeulie to Deshaun Thomas to Johan Passave-Ducteil. But maybe the one who emerge the most is playmaker Trenton Meacham: he doesn't put up big numbers (10 PTS, 4 AST, 10 EV), but plays 40 minutes with tremendous IQ, controlling the tempo of the game, moving the ball extremely well, setting his teammates up for a shot and showing once again an above-average decision making. He's also really smart and assertive on defense, and overall he could be considered the best kept secret of this Nanterre team.

Nikos Pappas (Panathinaikos)
If Panathinaikos is able to overcome a 15-point halftime deficit and to win in Belgrade after one overtime (90-86), that's mainly thanks to Pappas' outstanding scoring night. The Greek guard appears to be the only player able to consistently score against an excellent Red Star's defense, and leads the comeback in the second half with 15 points, showing also good decisions with the ball and making some pivotal defensive play. He also sinks 4 points in the OT, and finishes with 24 PTS, 6 FD and 23 EV.

Joe Ingles (Maccabi Tel Aviv)
In a good show by Maccabi, which catch a huge road win in Krasnodar (73-58), the Aussie wing is almost unguardable as a pick and roll ball-handler, slashing easily to the basket to score, draw a foul or set his teammates up thanks to his court vision. With 3 assists and 5 points in the last five minutes of the second quarter, he has a key role in a crucial break that gives to Maccabi a 14-point halftime lead, which Lokomotiv Kuban is not able to overcome. Ingles has 14 PTS, 10 RBS, 4 AST, 6 FD and 30 EV in the game.

Andres Nocioni (Laboral Kutxa)
20 PTS, 9 RBS, 11 FD, 31 EV. Despite shooting only 4/13 from the field, Nocioni is once again the main factor in the road win in Vilnius (85-64): he plays both at the 3 and at the 4 and is hardly stoppable by Lietuvos Rytas' forwards when decides to attack the rim, thanks to his physical presence and his strong first step. He shoots 12 free throws and is able to spread the floor for his teammates by drawing the most of opponents' attention.
