Last 16 Game 3 MVP: Cedomir Vitkovac, KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica

For the second time in three weeks, not only has Cedomir Vitkovac led KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica to a big win, but his outstanding performance has resulted in him earning weekly MVP honors. Vitkovac is the Last 16 Game 3 MVP after producing a performance index ranking of 30 while leading Buducnost to a pivotal 75-79 road win over BC Budivelnik Kiev. Vitkovac paced the Montenegrin champs with 24 points on 5-of-11 two-point shooting, 3 of 5 three-point attempts and 5 of 6 free throws. He added 10 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, a block and 7 fouls drawn for the 30 index. Vitkovac previously earned Last 16 Week 1 MVP honors after registering a 40 index in Buducnost's home win over BC Triumph Lyubertsy. Aleks Maric of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar and his teammate Derrick Brown were tied for the next best index ratings of the week, each with 28. Maric had 26 points on 11-of-18 two-point shooting, 9 rebounds and 4 assists as Lokomotiv beat Cajasol Seville 80-87. Brown added 28 points on 14-of-17 shooting, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Chuck Davis of Banvit BK Bandirma with an index rating of 27, and Raul Lopez of Uxue Bilbao Basket, with 26, complete the list of the best individual performances in Last 16 Game 3.

Brown was the week's top scorer with 28 points against Cajasol. Rado Rancik of CEZ Basketball Nymburk is the Last 16's best scorer at 24 points per game. Vitkovac, Leo Lyons of Budivelnik, Vladimir Stimac of Banvit and Oliver Stevic of Stelmet Zielona Gora each pulled down 10 rebounds this week. Lyons leads the Last 16 standings at 11.7 boards per night. Nick Calathes of Lokomotiv, Vasily Zavourev of Spartak St. Petersburg and Carlos Arroyo of Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul dished 8 assists apiece in Last 16 Week 3. Calathes leads the Last 16 at 8.7 per night. Calathes also had 5 steals to lead the weekly standings and is first in the entire Last 16 at 2.67 per game. Balvin rejected 5 shots against Lokomotiv, a new high in the 2012-13 Eurocup. Balvin and Daniel Theis of ratiopharm Ulm are first in this phase with 2 blocks per game. Vitkovac, Stimac, Lyons and Stevic were the only players to post double-doubles this week.
