Power Electronics Valencia-Panellinios (Preview)

EuroCup

Power Electronics Valencia

The good season of the Spanish team could make look like Valencia is the main favorite in this Final Four. Currently placed 4th in the ACB League, arguably the best in Europe, the club has passed through the leaving of his main sponsor for many years, Pamesa, and a reduction of the budget. Neven Spahija has assembled a youth pack with good players in all the positions.

Panellinios

Panellinios is, surely, the "Cinderella" of this Final Four. A team without a great history, which spent two decades in lower divisions before returning to the Greek A1 league in 2004, and without a great fan base. But teams like Benetton Basket, Gran Canaria 2014 or SLUC Nancy have failed to pass over the Athens club. His coach, Ilias Zouros, was awarded as the best coach of the EuroCup due to this success.

Key players (Power Electronics Valencia)

Rafa Martínez is the hero of the year in Valencia. After an unimpressive first season after signing from Manresa, this one was the breakout of the Spanish guard. Despite the rumors about an agreement with the powerhouse Regal Barcelona, he will be maybe the main argument for Valencia to win the EuroCup. The Australian center Matt Nielsen, the French guard Nando de Colo, and one of the finest Spanish prospects, Víctor Claver, are the other stars of the Neven Spahija's squad

Key players (Panellinios)

Devin Smith is back to Spain, where he played for Bruesa GBC years ago. The American guard-forward is the top scorer of the Greek team, and the first offensive argument. Smith, who arrived last year from Fenerbahce, is not the only star of Panellinios. The Greek players Kostas Charalampidis, Manolis Papamakarios and Ian Vougioukas are tough players who can help the team leaded by Ilias Zouros to beat anyone in this competiton. Panellinios will try to show the name is not important to win a title which can bring a historic passport to the Euroleague.

Starting five

PG-Rod Blakney
SG-Georgios Kalaitzis
SF-Devin Smiths
PF-Chris Owens
C-Ian Vougioukas
