Bamberg extends Anton Gavel
Il giocatore rimane fino al termine della stagione
Brose Baskets Bamberg extended the contract of guard Anton Gavel through the end of the season. Gavel (189, 25) joined the club on a short-term deal in November to help offset an injury to John Goldsberry, but has since developed into one of its top players. Gavel has started all five Eurocup games and ranks third on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg.) and assists (2.6 apg.), while helping Bamberg to a 4-1 record and putting it on the verge of a Last 16 berth. Gavel is also 10th in the league in steals at 2.2 per game. A native of Slovakia, Gavel developed in Germany and was named that league's best young player after the 2005-06 season, during which he recorded 16 points, 3 assists and 1.8 steals in 30 games for the Giessen 46ers. He has also played for BG Karlsruhe in Germany, Polaris World Murcia in Spain and Aris Thessaloniki in Greece.
