Murat Ozyer resigns Turk Telekom bench

A week before its first do-or-die Eurocup game of the season, Turk Telekom announced on Tuesday the resignation of head coach Murat Ozyer by mutual agreement. To fill in for Ozyer, assistant coach Merih Cakıroglu has been promoted. Ozyer arrived to Turk Telekom this summer among a flurry of signings that practically built a new team form the ground up. In Eurocup action, Turk Telekom has struggled to a 1-3 record in Group E but could still qualify for the Last 16 should it win both of its remaining games and Spartak St. Peterburg lose both of its games, including the one between them by 3 or more points. In the Turkish League, Turk Telekom is in ninth place with a 6-6 record, much lower than what the club directors expected when the new project started.
