One of the best young Polish players is ready to make his Eurocup debut after PGE Turow signed a one-year deal with forward Pawel Leonczyk on Monday. Leonczyk (202, 22) arrives from Energa Czarni Slupsk, where he averaged 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in 40 Polish League games last season, helping his team to reach the playoff semifinals. He had previously played for Polphamra-Pakmet Starogard Gd., making his Polish League debut in the 2003-04 season. He helped Spojnia Stargard to win the Polish junior Championship in 2003. Leonczyk is a member of the Polish national team. He helped the Polish under-20 national team to reach the semifinals at the Division B European Championships in 2006, averaging 14.4 points and 8.5 rebounds in eight games.
