CEZ Basketball Nymburk rounded its roster for the upcoming 2009-10 season by inking guard Ron Lewis to a one-year deal, the club confirmed Friday. Lewis (193, 25) arrives from Iscar Nahariya, where he averaged 18.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 25 Israeli League games last season. He became the fourth-best scorer in the Israeli League last season. Lewis has also played for Spotter Leuven in Neglium since finishing his college career at the Ohio State University (NCAA). He helped the Buckeyes to win the Big East Tournament and make it to the NCAA Tournament final in 2007, his senior season, in which he averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds for Ohio St. "I am very pleased that we signed Rom Lewis to complete our 2009-10 season. Lewis is a great shooter, especially from long distance," Nymburk head coach Muli Katzurin said. "He is the kind of player ready to take responsabilities in crunch time." Nymburk also announced that Ales Chan will not play for the perennial Czech League champions next season.
