Days after PGE Turow Zgorzelec named Sasa Obradovic as its new head coach, the club has gone to work on settling the roster for the coming season. Over the weekend, PGE Turow announced that it contracted veteran forward Adam Wojcik and scoring guard Kamil Chanas for the coming season. The veteran Wojcik (209, 39) is among the most accomplished Polish players of his generation and is the all-time scoring leader in the Polish League. He arrives from PBG Poznan, where he averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds in 22 Polish League games. For his career, the big man has amassed eight Polish League crowns with three different clubs. In addition to playing for Gwardia Wroclaw, KS Pekaes Pruszkow, KHKS Stal Bobrek, WKS Slask Wroclaw and Asseco Prokom in his native Poland, Wojcik has also suited up for Oostende and Spirou Charleroi in Belgium, Peristeri in Greece, Unicaja in Spain and Pierrel Capo d'Orlando in Italy. After appearing in over 100 Euroleague games, this will be Wojcik’s first season with a Eurocup club.

Chanas (190, 24) arrives from Victoria Gornik Walbrzych, where he was second on the club in scoring with an average of 10.8 points per game in 21 Polish League appearances last season. He grew up at Slask Wroclaw, for whom he competed in the ULEB Cup in the 2004-05 and 2007-08 seasons. Both Wojcik and Chanas are on the preliminary roster for the Polish national team that will host EuroBasket 2009 later this summer.
