Turow inks Sasa Obradovic
L'allenatore nella squadra polacca
PGE Turow Zgorzelec found a new coach for the upcoming 2009-10 Eurocup season, none other than Sasa Obradovic, who inked a one-year deal with his new club. Obradovic, age 40, arrives from BC Kyiv. His team overcame severe financial problems to reach the Ukrainian League semifinals and the Ukrainian Cup title game despite losing most of its best players during the season. Obradovic was an extraordinary playmaker with career highlights that featured gold medals at the 1998 FIBA World Championships, EuroBasket 1995, EuroBasket 1997, as well as an olympic silver medal in Atlanta 1996. He started his coaching career in RheinEnergie Koeln, the team where he finished playing. Obradovic helped Koeln to win the German League title in 2006 and lifted the 2007 German Cup trophy in this three seasons coaching the team. Obradovic now returns to the Eurocup for the first time since 2008, as Kyiv could not reach the competition through the Qualifying Rounds last season.
