Rytas began their off-season with a sizeable shake-up, as two members of the 1992-born Golden Generation parted ways with the club: Rokas Giedraitis used a player option to terminate his contract, while the club did not pick up the option on Egidijus Mockevicius.

The 25-year-old swingman Giedraitis represented the Vilnius side since the 2015-16 season, with a short loan spell back in Siauliai sandwiched in during this stretch. This season, he helped the team to return to the Betsafe LKL Finals for the first time in three years and was named on the All-Star Five after averaging 12.7 points and 3.9 rebounds on 41.8% shooting from three-point range.

Mockevicius, who signed a deal with Rytas last September, was severely limited by injuries and his career never took off in Vilnius. He ended up playing just 200 minutes in the Betsafe LKL, averaging 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 23 appearances

The only other official off-season move made by Rytas this summer was to hand over the club's reins from Rimas Kurtinaitis to Dainius Adomaitis, who was announced as the new head coach of the team at the end of last month.

Last season, Rytas registered a runners-up finish in the domestic championship, falling short against Zalgiris 4-1 in the Finals.
