Galatasaray brings in Juskevicius, Topaloglu
Two additions for the Turkish team
Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul announced this week the addition of two new players, guard Adas Juskevicius and forward Caner Topaloglu. Juskevicius (1.94 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Lietkabelis Panevezys of Lithuania, where he played in the 7DAYS EuroCup this season. Juskevicius averaged 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 10 regular season games, eight of them as a starter. Juskevicius was also Round 5 MVP, in a game in which he drained 9 three-pointers, 7 of them consecutive for his career-high 31 points. Topaloglu (2.00 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Tofas Bursa, and he also made a EuroCup appearance in the regular season. It was in Round 6 against ratiopharm Ulm, but he was on the court only for a few seconds. Since both players played in a different phase of the competition this season, they are eligible to join Galatasaray for the rest of the Top 16. The 2016 EuroCup champs are currently 0-3 in the standings and occupy last place in Group E. The team recently added Oktay Mahmuti also as new coach. A loss this round against Herbalife Gran Canaria on the road would leave them out of the competition for good.
