7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season, Round 10 MVP: John Roberson
He scored 42 points for ASVEL Villeurbanne
The 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season was thrilling until the very last second. When the dust settled, 16 teams had survived to keep playing into 2018 and one player, John Roberson of ASVEL Villeurbanne, smashed a record in the process of earning MVP honors for Round 10. Roberson had an amazing night in his team's triple-overtime, 128-129 victory over Herbalife Gran Canaria. In more than 42 minutes on court, Roberson scored 42 points – the season's best scoring performance yet – and shattered a EuroCup record by making 11 of 16 three-point shots. He completed his fine performance with 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 drawn fouls for a performance index rating of 44, the highest so far this season and the EuroCup's second-best in the last two years. The next individual performance this week came from Zenit St Petersburg's Drew Gordon, whose PIR of 35 allowed his team to claim a Top 16 ticket. Gordon scored 27 points and pulled 10 rebounds in his team's road win over Tofas Bursa. Completing the top performances this week were Ondrej Balvin of Gran Canaria (PIR 34), Richard Hendrix of Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (PIR 30) and Sammy Mejia of Tofas (PIR 29).
