7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season, Round 9 MVP: Boris Diaw, Levallois Metropolitans

Round 9 of the 7DAYS EuroCup solved some Top 16 riddles, but a team that was already eliminated, Levallois Metropolitans, played with no pressure to pull out a home win over MoraBanc Andorra. In that game, Boris Diaw earned MVP honors for the week thanks to his performance index rating of 29, the most among winning players in Round 9. Diaw led Levallois to its second victory with 15 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Diaw missed only 1 shot all night. Diaw was the player with the fourth highest personal performance, but the three with higher numbers didn't win their games. With a PIR of 39, Nikola Ivanovic of Buducnost VOLI Podgorica stood out among all other players thanks to his 27 points, 6 rebounds and 10 drawn fouls against FC Bayern Munich. After him came Nigel Williams-Goss of Partizan NIS Belgrade (PIR 36) and veteran Ksistof Lavrinovic of Lietkabelis Panevezys (PIR 34). Fifth in line this round was Stephane Lasme of UNICS Kazan, with a PIR 28 to lead his team to victory over Cedevita Zagreb.

Individual leaders: Alpha Kaba, 12 rebounds

Williams-Goss had another brilliant performance this round and was the best scorer with his 28 points. Darussafaka Istanbul's Scottie Wilbekin remains the top scorer so far in the season with his 19.0 on average, even if he missed this week's game due to injury. Young Alpha Kaba of ASVEL Villeurbanne was huge under the glass with his 12 rebounds. Zenit St Petersburg's Drew Gordon still dominates the rebounds rankings of the season with 8.2 per game. Scottie Reynolds of Zenit also had a career-high 13 assists to lead this round's best passers. Williams-Goss is the new leader in this category for the season with 6.8 on average. In the defensive end, two players stood out with 4 steals apiece: Darussafaka's Jajuan Johnson and Dolomiti Energia Trento's Jorge Gutierrez. Galatasaray's Alex Renfroe still leads the season rankings (2.1 spg.). Last but not least, Stephane Lasme was once again huge stopping shots under the rim with 4 blocks, but he was joined in that number by Jerrelle Benimon of ratiopharm Ulm. Lasme remains leader in the blocks department increasing his numbers to 2.7 blocks per game.
